The computer-aided design and manufacture of functional Orthoses is now recognised by many in the profession as the way forward, enabling practitioners to provide their patients with devices that are produced to much finer tolerances than those available through the traditional hand crafted methods.
The ability to accurately match the flexibility of the device to the patients body weight, numerically applied expansions and postings and the wide range of special accommodations available, have enabled practitioners to supply devices that are fit for purpose and much more easily accommodated within reasonable footwear.
